On our way home yesterday, my co-worker and I (I always take a ride with her, I am not driving yet) had a conversation about her car that needs to be fixed. We borrowed the company car while her car is still at service. And then out of a sudden she said she missed her ever dependable car, and then she start reminiscing the good times she had with that car, the ups and downs, through thick and thin, that her car is the only one whose gonna be there for her yet sometimes, at worst, she just want to give it up, with all the monthly payment, insurance and everything. And then I told her - Don't you realized you just compared your car to your HUSBAND? Then she went still for a while, then start laughing at me gregariously.
I therefore conclude:
Husbands are like Cars, they stick with you through thick and thin, all the rides of your life - smooth, bumpy. rough, edgy. And though the fuel goes way higher than what your height might be, you still have to feed your car because you need them to survive. And you who have to RIDE with them whatever condition they might be, you just have to deal with them.Yet at the end of the day, you know you still have the control over them. And most of all, inasmuch as you wanted to give them back to their DEALERS, because of high monthly cost, insurance, oil change and over the edge mileage, you still can't, because you got a COMMITMENT with them. and please don't forget the spousal supp.. err.. i meant you still have to pay the amount in full if ever you decide to let your CAR go. so it is much better if you keep them. I meant both your CAR and your HUSBAND. Aight?! Aight.

The Choice - Upcoming Nicholas Sparks' Novel

Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life -- boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him...and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help. Despite himself, Travis can't stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent eforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heartwrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
*******************************************
Accrg to the official website of Nicholas Sparks, this book will be out by September 25, 2007. I think this one's gonna be a hit novel once again - definitely a Nicholas Sparks' Trademark. I will definitely buy the book once released.
Though almost I have almost all Sparks' novel, i haven't had much chance on reading all of them, but here are some Sparks' books that i could recommend, just remember to bring your tissue box with you - coz they are all tear-jerkers.
1. A Walk To Remember - of course, this is my all time favorite Nicholas Sparks book! It is a story about young true love, Jamie and Landon. That love is indeed sweet yet bitter, but in the end, will still be sweet. It will also teach you to keep your faith intact, do not doubt that there is such a Higher Power among us. This novel also will make you believe that indeed, Miracles do happen.
2. Nights in Rodanthe - this one i'm not sure if everybody would agree with me, but i love it. this one really made me cry without even realizing that my tears were already falling down my cheeks. This is about a divorced woman, trying to cope up with her children, being alone and when true love finally had gotten her way, she had to say no. Why? read it to find out. In the end of the book, you will understand that love is indeed a very powerful emotion, yet when torn with a big responsibility with oneself, sometimes love has to give way. (trivia: this one will be coming on big screen: starring Diane Lane and Richard Gere).
3. The Wedding - It's kinda funny but i read this novel first before its prequel (The Notebook), this is the story of the life of Allie and Noah's daughter, Jane. But its different because the first person (the one telling the story) is the husband of Jane. This one is about a love that was almost given up. But still kept hanging on. it is kinda sweet what the husband did in the end, but i couldn't help but feel the urge of wanting to punch him for being a jackass husband to his wife and kids.
4. The Notebook - of course, who could forget Noah and Allie? Loved them both. A kind of novel that will not only make you fall in love, but also believe that indeed true love still exists. A pure, unadulterated love that stood the test of time.
5. A Bend in the Road - this book has a kind of weird because the one who actually tells the story is a third person, neither the hero or heroine, and it will keep you from asking yourself while reading, who the heck is the one telling the story here?? To tell you the truth, i almost gave up reading this due to that frustration, but i'm glad i didn't. The twist is really one of a kind. And the way Sparks' deliver this novel, makes it unique and different from the rest.
6. Message in a Bottle - this one i stopped reading almost a year ago. I guess i just forgot about it. i have to finish this to find out.
7. Dear John - it's funny i really wanted to have this book last Christmas, but when i finally got the chance to have it, it's just there. lol.
8. Three Weeks with My Brother - non fiction book of Nicholas and his brother Micah.
I also have the other Nicholas Sparks books, but i haven't read them yet, geesh need to catch up my reading..
The Guardian
The Rescue
True Believer
At First Sight

MY HOROSCOPE FOR TODAY 07/06/07
Let's see what my horoscope tells me today:
Just because you love something or someone doesn't mean you can't live without it. Yes, life will be different, but does that necessarily mean it has to be worse? Change has to happen -- that's how you grow.
hmmm..
